History behind Pride Month?
Beginning in the early hours of June 28th, 1969, New York City police raided a club called the Stonewall Inn, which was known for being a Gay club located in Greenwich Village. This sparked a series of protests by members of the gay community which is regarded as history’s first major protest on behalf of equal rights for homosexuals. This was known as the Stonewall Riots.
